At long last, the aeroplanes are flying again after the cancellations due to Covid-19. It meant that we were able to go to Burkina Faso for a fifth time, as long as we followed certain rules: being vaccinated, taking tests, and doing the things necessary to protect other people (wearing a mask, using hand-gel… ). On our arrival at Ouagadougou, however, the virus seemed a long way away.
We found everything from little donkeys to huge buildings supported by scaffold. And, of course, we met the children, around 2000 of them, in schools, in churches, under trees, and always to tell them the good news of Jesus. Their hearts were truly open.
We had also been invited to the town of Boulsa, north west of Ouagadougou. In the courtyard, people were preparing the traditional dish tô with sorghum flour.
The important parts of the main building of their new church are ready for use and they had organised a party. We were delighted to once again meet up with the team from “Save the Children”, led by Jonas Zongo. We were fortunate to meet two young people, Naomi and Daniel. It is so good to see ones so young serving their Lord!
Along with Constantin OUEDRAOGOU, just returned from Ouagadougou, we continued to teach the Word of God, to pray, and to sing with the children. At the end of our stay, we met Pastor Pengwende ILBOUDO. His church started with just children. Isn’t that amazing? Finally, we were given the opportunity of sharing God’s Word with the church led by Pastor Jean-Firmin TIENDREOGO.
We left Burkina Faso still taking photos from the car, in 39 degrees of heat!
