WELCOME-FOOD and WATER- OCTOBER/NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2021

News

A big welcome to you all.

Often, when children eat in the canteen at school or college, their parents ask them, “What did you have to eat for lunch today? What do you want to eat tonight?”

It is wonderful to be able to eat every day…and even more than once per day. Not all children have that privilege.

In some countries, there are children who either eat too much or eat things that are bad for them, and it makes them fat. There is so much inequality between different countries.

Good food and water are necessary for life.

Jesus said, “I am the living bread who has come down from heaven.”  He also said said that if we drink the water he gives us, we will never be thirsty again. That’s quite a surprise.

Jesus was, of course, talking about our hearts, our spirits. When we stay close to him, we are contented, like a baby after drinking its mother’s milk, or like a child who has eaten a delicious cake.

Every day, we can sing to God, “I am thirsty for your presence, Lord.”

And I am hungry for your word. Speak to me, I need you. Jesus, come into my heart. Thank-you, Holy Spirit.
